Sand Tournament Policies & Procedures

All tournament schedules and pools will be posted by 4:00 PM two days before the event on All formats (pool and bracket) are subject to change based on entries, drops, weather, or unforeseen circumstances.  Pool play followed by single elimination bracket; will take a minimum of 2 teams from pool play, more if able. All teams will be guaranteed a minimum of 4 games to 21 points or 3 games to 28 points.

There must be a minimum of 3 teams for a division to make.  If a division does not meet the minimum requirement, the tournament director is allowed to combine divisions.

All teams must be present by the end of check-in and for the player meeting, even if you do not play the first game.  If you are not present, then you risk being forfeited from the tournament

Tournament start time is generally 8am (summer) 9am (fall & spring), and 10am (winter); subject to change based on number of teams and weather.) Division times are subject to change based on registrations.

Tournament refunds will be reviewed on a case by case basis.  Refunds being asked for before the entry deadline (72 hours out) will be given minus a 3% processing fee or a credit can be requested.  Refunds being asked within 72 hours of the event will be given minus $15 processing fee or a credit can be requested. There are NO refunds or credits 48 hours before the event.

If a tournament division is cancelled due to not meeting the minimum required number of teams, a full refund will be offered. The tournament director has the right to combine divisions to meet the minimum number.

If a tournament is cancelled before a tournament begins for any reason due to inclement weather, a full refund will be offered to all participants.

If a tournament is cancelled during a tournament, a 50% refund will be offered to all participants, as long as 50% of play was completed.  If less than 50% is completed, a full refund will be offered to all participants.

If the tournament completes pool play and is cancelled during the playoffs, no refunds will be given.

Tournaments can be delayed or paused during inclement weather and then resume play if possible.

Walk-up registration will be allowed only if space is available.  An extra $10 fee will be added to the tournament entry fee for all walk up teams or teams that register after the entry deadline.

Junior Tournaments

  • 2 v 2; all players must have a current USAV # to participate & USAV medical form.
  • Pool play followed by single elimination bracket play; will take minimum of 2 teams out of pool play or more if able
  • All teams will be guaranteed 4 games to 21 points or 3 games to 28 points

Queen of the Beach

  • 2 v 2 mini-tournament; no partner needed!
  • All players must complete a facility waiver before participation
  • Each player plays with every player in their pool & individual points are recorded to determine the winner
  • Players are guaranteed a minimum of 3 games to 21 points



DO NOT PARK AT NITRO SWIMMING- YOU WILL BE TOWED. Overflow parking is available across the street at our indoor ASC Cedar Park building. Parallel parking is also available in the short road expansion between Toro Grande and the Sand Parking lot.

Towing is strictly enforced at ASC facilities. If you are not legally parked in a parking space you will be towed. Please do not park in the fire lanes, in front of the dumpsters, or in reserved parking spaces.

Admission Fee

Card Only (no cash)- Coaches and Players are free.
Adults = $3
Children (6-17) = $2

The Austin Sports Centers have a card only policy. Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and Apple Pay accepted.


Outside Food or Drinks are allowed (small soft coolers for water and sports drinks are ok)

Concessions will not be provided. Please no outside food or drinks in any of our venues. If your team does set up a food table, please dispose of any trash in the dumpsters and keep the area around the ASC facilities clean.


No outside chairs

Seating is provided court side and in the pavilion area.

Outlets are available near the pavilion area.

Rinse Shower

There is a hi-low (head and feet) rinse shower to clean off on the west side of the concessions building.
