Steven Velez went to Robert E. Lee HS in San Antonio, TX and committed and traveled to Houston to play for Houston Volleyball Academy. Where he Competed in 3 Junior National Championships Louisville, KY , Minneapolis, Minnesota , and his Senior year in Atlanta, GA. From there Steven Attended Johnson & Wales University where he earned a bachelors in Graphic Design & New Media. He was a walk-on Starting Libero and later a two year captain. where he still has the following records.

He has been Coaching Boys at Austin Juniors for two years and is also the Junior Varsity Head Coach at St. Michael's Catholic Academy.
