Kristy Rioux
Kristy Rioux was a standout volleyball player from 1991-94, earning four letters during her time at Texas State University. Rioux is the career all-time assists leader with 5,517 and the all-time single-season assists leader with 1,541. She also ranks fourth all-time in service aces with 180 and fifth all time in digs with 1,312. She also holds the Bobcat record for most assists in one match at Strahan Coliseum with 80. Rioux was named the Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year in 1991. She was also named to the 1994 SLC All-Conference Second Team, 1993 All-Conference Honorable Mention Team and the SLC All-Academic Teams from 1992-94. Rioux was named the SLC Player of the Week twice during her career and was part of the team that won the 1991 SLC Championship. She was also named to the Dean's List four semesters while receiving the Jean Smith Award as the top scholar athlete at Texas State in 1996. Kristy was inducted into the Texas State Hall of Honor in 2010 and was the first women's volleyball player awarded this honor. In 1996, she earned a Bachelor of Science in exercise and sport science and a master's degree in education administration in 2000. Before moving to Washington, Rioux was a Realtor with Hindsite 20/20 in Austin from 2008-2013. She also had experience as a Biology teacher for 12 years at Westlake High School, San Marcos High School and McNeil High School. Rioux also garnered attention as a successful head volleyball coach at San Marcos High School from 1997-2002, where she took the girls team to regional finals in both 2000 and 2002. She has coached numerous girls with all-district honors and that have earned college scholarships. Rioux coached part-time with the Austin Juniors Volleyball Club for 18 years, where she was named Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2007, while leading her teams to a bronze medal in the Junior Olympic National tournament each of those years. Kristy and her family lived in Gig Harbor, WA from 2013-2017. Kristy was a Broker with Keller Williams West Sound (2015-2017) and the Freshman Volleyball Coach at Peninsula High School in 2016. Kristy currently is a Realtor with Intelligent Real Estate. I love having the opportunity to help home buyers, sellers and investors reach their real estate goals. Kristy is an involved member of her congregation at Austin Ridge. She enjoys staying active whether she is boating, hiking, skiing, working out, volunteering at her children's schools or watching her three children stay active in all their activities. Rioux is married to Texas State baseball alumnus and Managing Partner at Synergy Partners Wealth Strategies in Austin, Dan Rioux. They have three children, Taylor, Hunter, and Addison.
