Kara Teal is from Round Rock, Texas, and began playing volleyball at the age of 12 for Austin Juniors Volleyball Club. Kara attended Brentwood Christian School, also located in Austin, where she won many All-District honors. She received a scholarship to play volleyball as a middle blocker at the University of Texas at San Antonio for four years. While at UTSA, she was a four-year starter and won All-Conference awards her last two seasons. While in San Antonio, Kara has gained experience in coaching club volleyball over the previous two years. When she was not playing volleyball, Kara spent time volunteering/ mentoring in reading programs with students at local elementary schools. Kara recently graduated with a B.A. in General Business. She is now pursuing an MBA in Strategic Management at the University of North Texas’s online program. Finally, Kara is excited and has rejoined the Austin Juniors organization as an assistant coach.
