Emily started playing club volleyball when she was in the 6th grade. She made her 7th grade "A" team and her 8th grade "A" team, where she was voted the most valuable player. Emily played High School volleyball at Jack C. Hays High School in Buda, Texas, where she graduated in 2012. She has played volleyball since she was 10 years old, playing club volleyball with Hill Country Elite, San Marcos Smash, and Austin Performance Volleyball. After graduating high school, Emily continued her volleyball career at Wharton Junior College where she was the starting Middle Blocker for both the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Both seasons of playing with the Pioneers she earned most total blocks and most solo blocks for the team and in her sophomore season with the Pioneers (2013), she earned most Aces for the team. Emily decided not to pursue playing volleyball after her two years at Wharton, so she could focus on her studies. Emily has a love and passion for the sport and continued to play at Texas State for fun, played sand volleyball, and was a sand volleyball referee at a local establishment. In December of 2016, Emily graduated from Texas State University where she majored in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a concentration in Special Education, All Levels. After college, Emily started her teaching and coaching career at Bastrop High School, where she initially was the freshman coach her first year then became the JV coach for her last two years there. While at Bastrop, Emily was on the staff for two playoff appearances. When Emily left Bastrop she went to Hutto High School and was the JV Flex coach for one year. Currently, Emily is the Varsity volleyball assistant coach at Cedar Park High School and a Special Education Math teacher. While at Cedar Park, she has made one playoff appearance and hopes to continue on that path in the years to come.
