Dustin Miller
Dustin Miller has been with Austin Junior Volleyball since 2012 and currently serves as head coach of 17 Helix. Dustin began coaching at our camps and academy programs and previously coached our 16s age group for five seasons. During the 2019 season, Dustin served as head coach of 16 Navy who placed in the top 5 of several tournaments in Texas and finished 9th at Mideast National Qualifier and 4th at Red Rock National Qualifier. 16 Navy’s proudest accomplishment was finishing 8th at Lone Star Regionals to qualify for the 16 American division at USA Volleyball’s Girls Junior National Championships. In May 2019, Austin Junior Volleyball presented Dustin with the Austin Juniors Jason Landers “Big Dawg” Girls Head Coach of the Year Award. In 2020, Dustin served as head coach of 17 Helix who placed 2nd at Mideast National Qualifier, 5th at Big South National Qualifier, 2nd in the Texas Championship Series, and finished with an overall season record of 52-19. A graduate from The University of Texas at Austin with bachelor’s degrees in Sport Management and Spanish, Dustin competed in four seasons as a libero and setter with the men’s volleyball club and coached summer camps with Texas Volleyball. After his senior season, Texas Men’s Volleyball recognized Dustin with the Michael “Purgy” Purgason Team Spirit Award. Dustin’s experience as head coach also includes successful seasons with AJV Boys, University of Texas Women’s Volleyball Club, and Boys Volleyball at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dustin began playing volleyball at a young age. Currently, Dustin works as an advancement project manager for The University of Texas at Austin. In his spare time, Dustin plays tennis and volleyball, and loves exploring Austin’s live music scenes, local coffee shops, or the outdoors with his hound/lab mix, Francis.
