As a four year starter at Bowie High School, Becky was the District Newcomer of the Year, District Most Valuable Hitter, District MVP (twice), received Academic All-District honors and was named to the All-Centex Team. She is an AJV alumni where she played club for 6 years. Becky was a member of Austin Junior's 2001 GJNC 18 Open Bronze Medal Team. She attended the University of Cincinnati and was named C-USA Freshman of the Year, All-Freshman Team, First Team All-Conference, C-USA Player of the Week (twice) and AVCA Region Freshman of the Year. Becky has accumulated 16 years of coaching experience at the high school, club and collegiate levels while supporting her husband's military career and re-establishing herself in the volleyball community with every new duty station. She has led her high school teams to 6 district championships, 2 New Mexico State Quarter-Final Appearances and 1 New Mexico State Final-Four Appearance.
While coaching club, Becky has trained 3 New Mexico Gatorade Players of the Year and led one of her teams to a Sun Country Regional Championship. She was a club director and board member for New Mexico Juniors VBC. Additionally, Becky spent one year as the Volunteer Assistant Coach at the University of New Mexico. During that season, the Lobos recorded their winningest season in 25 years.
Becky has her Bachelor's Degree in Communications and her Master's Degree Organizational Management.
Becky is thrilled to return to the AJV family after 10 years away from Austin. This will be her 21st season coaching volleyball. She is married to Mike Walters who is active duty in the USAF. They have 3 daughters: Maddi, Makenna, and Macee.
